This one is short, and it is not really a legal document. It is what we are asking of you.

When you sit a ranked exam

• Sit it in one go, under the real time limit.
• No notes, no search, no second device, no help from anyone else.
• Do not look up answers mid-exam, even the ones you are unsure about.

Why it matters more here than elsewhere

The leaderboard is the one number on this site that depends on other people being honest. If it fills with inflated scores it stops being a useful signal of where you stand — which makes it worthless to you, not just to us.

More practically: a practice score you inflated tells you that you are ready when you are not. The only person that costs is you, on exam day.

If you want to study rather than compete

Use practice mode, or turn ranking off in settings. Looking things up while you learn is good studying — it is just not a ranked exam. Nothing about opting out reduces what you get: you keep every explanation, every analytic and your own percentile.

What we do about it

We record integrity signals during exams and use them to decide whether an exam is eligible for the public leaderboard. We are open about what those signals are in our privacy policy.

We would rather under-enforce than wrongly accuse someone. A flagged exam keeps its score, explanations and analytics — only public ranking is affected — and you can always ask a person to look again.
