Your data rights

Most companies make you email someone to exercise these rights. Two of the important ones are buttons in your settings instead.

Do it yourself, right now

• Export everything. Settings → Export my data downloads a JSON file with your profile, exam sessions, answers, purchases, devices and reports.
• Delete your account. Settings → Delete my account. Immediate, permanent, and it removes your profile, scores, devices and access.
• Correct your details. Display name, country and accessibility settings are editable in settings.
• Object to leaderboard processing. Turn ranking off in settings and keep every other feature.

What deletion actually does

We think you should know precisely, because "we delete everything" is rarely true and we would rather not claim it.

• Your profile, devices, usage counters and AI budgets are deleted.
• Your study records, skill estimates, review schedule — and your personal review timing, if you had completed enough reviews for one — are deleted, along with the summaries our AI explanations were written from. A written explanation template that was reused for other students stays, because it contains nothing about you — its figures are filled in from whoever is reading it.
• Question difficulty and skill-learning statistics that your answers helped estimate stay. They describe questions and skills, not people, and nothing in them can be traced back to you.
• Your sign-in identity is removed, so the account cannot be used again.
• Question error reports are kept but detached from you and stripped of free text, because they protect other learners from a bad question.
• Integrity and risk records are detached from you. The aggregate remains useful for tuning thresholds; the person does not.
• Transaction records are kept for tax and accounting with the personal link removed — the amount and date survive, the association with you does not.

Your rights in full

Under GDPR and UK GDPR you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Have inaccurate data corrected.
• Have your data erased.
• Restrict or object to processing, including our legitimate-interests processing.
• Receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format.
• Complain to your local supervisory authority.

Under the CCPA/CPRA, if you are a California resident, you have rights to know, delete, correct and to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined.

Automated decisions

We use automated rules to decide whether an exam is eligible for the public leaderboard, and to detect account sharing and scraping. These decisions do not have legal effects, and the strongest automatic outcome is that an exam is excluded from public ranking or an account is restricted pending review — never an automatic ban. You can ask for a human to review any such decision, and every enforcement notice we send includes how to do that.

Your study plan, skill estimates and review schedule are also produced automatically, from your own answers and timings, and they update as you practise. They exist only to direct your studying: they have no legal or similarly significant effect, they do not affect your scores, and nobody else sees them. If an estimate looks wrong to you, tell us and a person will look at how it was worked out.

International transfers

Our processors may store data outside your country. Where required we rely on standard contractual clauses or an equivalent transfer mechanism. Each processor, and what it receives, is listed on third-party services.

Making a request another way

If you cannot use the self-serve tools — for example you have lost access to your account — email support@preptics.com. We respond within 30 days and will verify your identity before acting.
